Tired Of Being Alone
I'm so tired of being alone
I'm so tired upon-my-own
Won't you help me boy
Just as soon as you can
I'm so tired of being alone
I'm so tired upon-my-own
Won't you help me boy
Just as soon as you can
People say that I've found a way
To make you say that you love me
Hey baby, you didn't go for that
Honey, it's a natural fact
That I wanna come back
Show me where it's at, baby
I'm so tired of being alone
I'm so tired upon-my-own
Won't you help me boy
Soon as you can
I guess you know that I, uh, I love you so
Even though you don't want me no more
Hey hey hey hey, I'm cryin' tears
Honey, through the years
I'll tell ya like it is
Honey, love me if you want, baby
I'm tired baby
I'm tired of being alone by myself now
I'll tell you, I'm tired baby
Tired of being on my own at night
In my dreams it's you baby
Sometimes I wonder
If you love me like you say you do.
Cause pleasing you
Has grown over me,
To be my greatest dream
I'm so tired of being alone
I'm so tired upon-my-own
Won't you help me boy
Just as soon as you can
I'm so tired of being alone
I'm so tired upon-my-own
Won't you help me boy
Just as soon as you can
I'm so tired of being alone
I'm so tired of being alone
I'm so tired of being alone...
Song info :
Many Texas fans may think this is originally a Texas song, but the thruth is that it's originally written and recorded by Al Green. With his incomparable voice, full of falsetto swoops and nuanced turns of phrase, Al Green rose to prominence in the Seventies. One of the most gifted purveyors of soul music, Green has sold more than 20 million records. His breakthrough came in 1971 with top twenty hit "Tired of Being Alone", followed by six consecutive singles in the top ten, "Let’s Stay Together" (also known as one of Tina Turner's mega successes), "Here I Am (Come and Take Me)", etc. He turned to Gospel music in the 80's and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
Texas released "Tired Of Being Alone" as a single in 1992 and got their second top twenty hit in the UK in April of that year when it reached the 19th place. Ever since it's been a song that was played occasionally at concerts with Sharleen playing keyboards. On their 2001 tour they even added a sample of TLC's "Waterfalls" or Shaggy's "It Wasn't Me" in the middle of this song which made it sound even more special.
Sharleen says about this song that she "found her own
voice" as a singer when Texas recorded this song.
"That was a big turning point for me because those are the songs I listened to as a kid," she says. "And Tired Of Being Alone was one of the songs I did at a soundcheck to get my vocals right.
