Concert review :
Wembley Arena, London, UK - 8 & 9 February 2001

Once upon a time a little young lad went to a far away magical place called London, here in a magical castle called Wembley arena he saw the Scottish queen Sharleen Spiteri and her courtiers Ally, Eddie, Johnny and co. perform live......they then lived happily ever after.

The story begins on the 8th feb and finishes on the 9th, Jamieboy (the storyteller here) jumped onto the train to London.....when finally arriving there he decided to go for a shop, about 3.00 the little guy finaly arrived at his destination........yes it was Wembley Arena!! Here he met up with many friends who also were going to this gig that he is writting about, after about waiting for 10 mins in the cold finally Texas arrived!! Sharleen, Ally and Eddie popped up for a chat, after a couple of photos and chat they then had to go in to rehurs for the show (of course this was after I asked Shar to make us all a nice cup of tea whilst we were waiting....and much to our surprsie she sent out some tea!!! my smooth talking worked on Sharleen lol!!)

We finally came into the gig and of course being mad Texas fans ran straight to the front row!!! after a long wait we first saw the support act Semisonic, who were ok and got us al nice and warmed up with a sing along!!, after this there was a short pause (on the screen on came the Beatles!!) . Anyhow lets carry on............ Texas finally came onstage!!! wowo ahaahhaha wowowoow. The lights went out.......down came a giant cover..... and on came the band to "Zero zero"... when this finally finished they went straight into "In Demand" and I went mental...... half hoping Alan Rickman would come on stage but sadly no site of him. It was an excellent performance and Sharleen looked stunning in nice (very) tight sexy toursers!! ally looked cute too (lol don't want him to feel left out). Texas then went into "Halo" where as is the fashion we went mad!!!! this was then followed by "Black Eyed Boy" (mad again). Then Texas welcomed us all to the gig!!

Texas went from strength to strength at the gig........doing all the classics, "Guitar Song" (Shar had a new guitar), before they left the stage, apart from shar who done a beautiful "Put Your Arms Around Me". This was then followed by comedy when Shar brought a fan onto stage, trying to seduce her. I think he was a bit too confident and Shar looked like she was running away more than dancing with him. Finally when he left Shar brought our Ally on stage to do "Prayer For You". Finally the band returned for "Summer Son", a final mad song, they then left us.......for a minute lol!! Then they returned.........with ELVIS!! Elvis had entered the building, Shar came on in her leather (mmmmmmmmmm she looked good) witht he huge Texas writting they done the great legend that is "Inner Smile". And what better than to follow with my fave Elvis song (as Shar said it had to be done) This was the best cover yet (wel one of them) and me and Ida went mad (we both love elvis too). Then after much Elvis acting they left the stage. However after all the screams for more Texas came on to do one last one............"Say What You Want", and it rocked. In there fashion it became the Wu Tang ending and we all went mad, again. My God i couldn't breathe. I must say it was the best gig ever. and shar looked great, they were all happy and it was fab.

The following day was very much the same routine, apart from the fact Shar decided that the audience were better lol and said about how the male fans who shout for her to get her kit off are ususally the ones far away and when they meet her they can't talk, lol!! This one can be seen at wembleytv.com and i tell ya see it becasue this is Texas at there very best. The greatest tour they have done yet, Texas just keeps getting better and better, and somehow Shar lookes sexier and sexier!!! anyhow i'm going to have to try and get on stage with Shar at London arena. Look at the pics if you want to see how good it was!! There is only one way to decribe it.............MIND BLOWIN'!!!!!
