T-cosy IN THE PARK

2 days of rain and mud but it was certainly worth the wait for Texas to appear on the main stage and close T in the Park 2001!

With mud up to your knees and being pushed by crowds of people (about 70,000 were said to be there.)
There was only one thing to put a smile on your face-and that was hearing “Zero zero” playing and seeing the members of Texas appear on stage and then see Sharleen running out in a bright yellow Adidas tracksuit top and her hat that really does look like a T-cosy!!

The show opened with "I Don’t Want a Lover", which certainly got the crowd going. To follow were all the great popular Texas songs- "Halo", "Black eyed boy", "In our lifetime" and ironically - "Summer son", and by this time the sun had came out, well it would, wouldn’t it!!? Then there was the acoustic version of “in Demand” as I guess at a festival it wouldn’t have really been appropriate to do anything too sappy, but it was really nice to hear it slowed down! They also sang “Happy Birthday, as it was the Big Issues 10th birthday, well with that hat Sharleen could have possibly passed as one of the sellers!! (Only joking!)

The crowd was then informed to beware as she was feeling very naughty, then they performed “Tired of being alone”, which then went into Shaggy’s “Wasn’t me” which again went down a hit with the crowd!

It wasn’t long until Sharleen got up to her usual tricks, jumping down off the stage (which was pretty high) and picked out 3 guys from the crowd to have a dancing competition with Nicole and Charlotte. When she asked the guys their names and where they were from (Cilla Black style!) two both replied – “Bob” this then made her burst into song “Bob the Builder” which was hilarious! The set was then finished with “Say what you want” and with 70,000 people singing along it was pretty amazing!

However that wasn’t the end, the big Red Texas sign appeared and out they came again with Sharleen dressed in her leathers to perform “inner Smile” and “suspicious minds”

Before walking off stage Sharleen said – “we may not be back for a while, but we promise to return with something new for you!!!!!”

I cant think of any better way to end a music festival, with so many good and varied bands, there was only one band that could have possibly ended it, with such talent, fun and Brilliance!!!
