Scottish supergroup Texas have been on a unique tour of Scotland today - stopping off at three cities all within 12 hours. The band are set to release their first album in three years.
Asked about whether she had been offered a role in the film Moulin Rouge , Sharleen said: "It's not an urban myth, this is a really old story. What it was was when we doing, preparing the greatest hits I was asked to go along, I was asked to do Moulin Rouge . I don't know if it was the part of Nicole Kidman, you never know - it might have been Ewan's part for all I know. But I was asked to do it and they said I'd need to take a year out in Australia, so it would be a year out of my schedule, which I just didn't have at the time to do. It's very difficult because I'm not an actress and it's not something that I'm dying to do, so for me it was very important to keep doing what I'm best at so I stuck with that."
Had she been enjoying this mini tour that took place today?
She replied: "It's been really good, really good. As I said, it's been nice to come and see so many friendly faces, and it's all been going really well."
The band's new single is out today and it is already in the top ten airplay chart. She said: "Yeah we'll see what happens. It's getting plenty of airplay and it's turning that into sales, so we'll see what happens this week. Bit nervous."
As for the new album, she added: "God yeah, yeah. Very happy indeed. It sounds very good. There's a lot of different sounds on it. It's just, you know, it's a really beautiful album. There's a lot of different stuff on it. It goes from Getaway , which is very up and in your face, to sprawling ballads. I even do a duet with Paul Buchanan from the Blue Nile on it. So, there's like a lot of different stuff on it, it's good."
