Marktrock, Leuven, Belgium, 13 August 2005

After almost 4 and a half year I was finally able te see Texas again on stage !!!! And this time it was the stripped version. No Mark 1 or backingground singers. And Texas proofed with this setup that they don't need all those extra influences.

It was in april that we decided to have our annual trip to Antwerpen around the 12th till the 15th of august. Earlier that month we had been to a live concert of Vaya Con Dios in Utrecht (The Netherlands). This was a good concert but we both had the feeling at that point that we had seen Dani Klein enough doing her thing. So no excitement for us when we found out that Vaya would play at Marktrock when we were around. But ...... when also TEXAS was added to the bill it became a different story. The Holliday Inn in Leuven was easely booked and the counting of the days had begun. The hotel was close to the Grote Markt ... so great place !!!! When we checked in there was a tourbus from GB standing outsite. Poundering hearts but the lady at the reception told us that it wasn't TEXAS their bus. They wanted to stay at the hotel but it was already fully booked at that point.

So the evening came and we had to go to the festival site to ensure us of an good spot. The setting on the square was marvelous. And I couldn't wait to see Texas again. In a free festival booklet the organisation had revealed that they had been trying to book Texas for several times and that they were very proud that they were on stage this year, because Texas is the ultimate act for such a festival because then can play hit after hit and make the crouwd go mental. And boy that was sure what they did!!!!

The one and a half hour of Texas on stage went very quikly ... it so great becouse you love all their songs. Although i think that "Once In A Lifetime" tourned out to be one of the weakest parts in the set. The new songs are fantastic !!!! "What About Us (Dellas)" has to grow on me ... I don't think that it's one of the best songs Texas has ever written. But "Sleep", "Can't Resist", "Nevermind" and "Getaway" are suburb.

Anyway I've had a fantastic evening and i really do hope that Texas will also come to Holland again in the near future so that I can see this fantastic band live again. Sharleen and the boy's thank you for a great evening and good to know that you appreciate the suport of your fans through the years. I love you !!!!
