Concert review
Große Freiheit, Hamburg, 18 November 1999

by Mac Stef

So, here's my report. First of all, the concert wasn't in the "Docks", instead it was postponed into the "Große Freiheit", I'm not sure, but I think it's the club formaly called "Starclub" (you know, the Beatles and so on), a club for less than 500 people on 2 floors.
My compain, a more concert experienced girl persuaded me to go as close to the stage as possible, the best decision that night.

We stood in the 2nd row. I saw everything. For any lucky reason, I was permitted to take my camera with me, others had to hand it over at the entrance.. As you can see, Sharleen looked into my camera once. She smiled, but unfortunately, it took me to long, so she had to sing when I shot the picture. Never mind!

When she announced "One of our first songs...10 years ago..." with a little riddle, I wanted to tell my neighbour, that's "I dont want a lover", supposably I was a bit exited and too loud, so Shar heard it, and demanded "Ah, don't tell the song...". I repeated it, unable to think about, what she wanted. So she said: " So that you don't want a lover that's for sure!"
It was a joke at my costs, but who can be angry at her, it was a funny smalltalk, if you can call it like that.

After the (great) show, my compainon alluded me that there were still plectrums from Shar in her music stand, also visible on the pics. We asked a stagehand for it and got it. I had to share it with my friend, so I have only a half one.

Thats my story about a great evening, a exiting show and a fantastic Band with a hypnotizing front singer.

Texas Greetings

Mac Stef
