Concert review
Ramshorn Theatre, Glasgow, 30 September 2003

by Julia Jones

Sharleen and the band, as usual, were excellent. For 10.30 in the morning Sharleens voice was amazing. The set list was :- Telephone X, Inner Smile, Broken, I'll See It Through, Black Eyed Boy, Carnival Girl and for encore Say What You Want. For Carnival Girl we even had a visit from Kardinal Offishall who seemed like a really cool guy.

After the gig we had the chance to ask Sharleen questions, which she answered whilst sat crossed legged on the floor. She seems so normal - no edge to her, just really down to earth. As you would expect Sharleens not a one word answer person, so we were short on time. Unfortunately this meant that we didn't have time to get any of our CD's signed personally, but we were all given an album sampler of 'Careful what you wish for' signed by Sharleen, so that made up for it. Mine's going in a plastic wallet to be put somewhere very safe!!

The gig was being filmed for Sky so we weren't able to take photos which was a bit of a shame, but I'm hoping I'll be able to get a copy of the recording.

Anyway, just to say that what I've heard so far from the new album sounds fantastic. Telephone X and Broken go back to the more guitar/rock based sound from their early days, which I love.
Keep up the good work Texas!! Can't wait until the next tour.

Regards
Julia Jones
