Concert review
NEC, Birmingham - 15 May 2006

Yet another awesome concert from Sharleen and her band of merry men. Its a sign of a truly great band that they sound exactly the same as they do on their CDs...perfect vocals and great guitars are what have made Texas such a fantastic band over the past 20 years, and the gig was a shining example of how music should be done. Sharleen was as chatty and jokey as ever, with lots of banter with Michael. The sound off between Michael and Eddie was great, and although the crowd seemed to be opting for Michael's version of Rocket Man, Sharleen awarded the win to Eddie.
Set list much the gigs in Cardiff and Manchester, all cracking tunes! Stand out songs for me personally on the night were Black eyed Boy, Put your Arms Around Me and Sleep (I've been humming this one all day at work and its showing no signs of subsiding). Sharleen's encore outfit was brilliant and attracted a lots of wolf whistles!!
Having seen Texas live many times before, this concert was up their with the best of them. Whilst it didn't have the intimacy of the Birmingham Academy last October, Sharleen still knows how to work a crowd and and Texas were, as always, a joy to watch.
