Suspicious Minds

We're caught in a trap
I can't walk out
because I love you too much, baby.
Why can't you see,
what you're doing to me,
when you don't believe a word I say?

(chorus)
We can't go on together,
with Suspicious Minds
and we can't build our dreams,
on Suspicious Minds.

So, if an old friend I know,
drops by to say hello,
would I still see suspicion in your eyes?
Here we go again,
asking where I've been.
You can see these tears are real I'm crying.

(chorus)

Oh, let our love survive,
I'll dry the tears from your eyes.
Let's don't let a good thing die,
when honey, you know I've never, lied to you
Mmm, yeah, yeah!

We're caught in a trap
I can't walk out
because I love you too much, baby...

and where does this remind you off?

Song info :
Maybe the best known cover of them all. Elvis recorded this song in 1969 during the Nashville sessions and it became his 17th and last number 1 hit in the States.
The funny thing is that when Elvis recorded the song it was already a cover because the song was written in 1968 by Francis Rodney Zambon and released by himself under his artist name Mark James but he didn't have success with the song himself.

Texas performed this song as second encore on their 2001 Greatest Hits tour and they did an outstanding job. Sharleen dressed in her black leather suit which was also used for the videoclip of "Inner Smile", fantastic. Elvis used the same type of suit in his 1968 comeback special.
