Today we can all finally go to our new homes. Dirk and Sofie arrived around 9am and also all the other new bosses were there. Nadine couldn't come because she had another important appointment.
Marnix and Christel explained everything they needed to know about us for the first days and after a while we said goodbye to our foster parents Christel and Marnix who took such good care of us the last two months and of course also to our brothers and sisters and parents. It was a pretty emotional goodbye, but in a few months we will see eachother again for the reunion so that's a nice thing to look forward to.
Dirk and Sofie placed me in the back of their car which I didn't really liked the first few minutes so I decided to ty and howl a bit. But I soon discovered they didn't really payed attention to my howling so I decided to sleep the rest of the trip.

We arrived at my new home around 11.30am. I could go and explore the garden right away, but decide to pee in the kitchen because I was a little bit nervous. But they didn't mind, they just placed me outside again. They let me discover my new nest , they gave me food, they played with me, some people came to watch me and said I was cute, ... So it was all a big success. When grandma arrived I decided to spend some time on her lap, hey I have to score good points don't I?
It seems there's a cat called Snuffel also, but I didn't see her all day. I think she's affraid of me, or maybe a bit jealous. But I will try to be good friends with her, I promised that.
Then Sofie and her friend went with me for a walk with this strange thing around my neck. I don't really know what to do with it so I did a bit of running and a bit of just standing still. There's soo much to learn, but I like it. In the evening I was so exhausted that I went to bed pretty early.
At night they woke me up around 3am and placed me outside to pee, because it was so cold and wet I decided to just do it and go back in and sleep some more. Dirk was very happy with me, he even called me a good girl

Second visitors day. There were lots of people there and for the first time we could show ourselves while in action. Outside, playing, wrestling, chasing each other around, ... It was fun to see all those humans watching us.
And of course my soon to be bosses were there also. Sofie and Eline took lots of photos from us and I heard them saying that their dad Dirk was even gonna make a website for me. Hey I'm gonna be famous.
Only two more weeks to go and I can go home, yipee. But in the mean time I can stay with my brothers and sisters a while longer and play with them. And with the kids from Christel and Marnix, and their other dogs, and cat, ... Oh there's soo much to do.

In Hoboken everyone has been anxious to know which pup the other persons would choose. And in the evening there finally was the long awaited phone call from Christel. They had made a choice. They chose my sister with the one brown - one white eye.
I don't have to tell you that Dirk and the rest were very happy, and I was also .

Today is the first visitors day for our bosses. I heard that they are all very excited and not in the least Dirk, Nadine and the kids.
Around 2pm everyone arrived and we were ready for it. Well, especially Marnix and Christel had to be ready. We could just be lazy. Dirk and his family were the first to arrive (of course ). Dirk had be so unpatience the last couple of weeks that he just couldn't wait any longer.
Everyone was soo touched by us that it was funny to see. Most people could already make their final choice for the puppy they wanted, but Dirk and family had to wait a week longer because the other person who asked for a brown/white bitch couldn't be there this week.
Dirk always said he didn't want to have a preference before they finally knew whuch pup would be theirs, but of course it was unevadable that they did have a favorite. And that was me.

13 January 2008

Tonight my brothers and sisters and me of course, decided it was time to leave mama's belly. We wanted to explore the world out there. But oh it was cold when we arrived in that big world. A Red Merle brother of mine beat me to the finish and arrived just before me around 1am. I was born around 1.30am followed by 5 other brothers and sisters. The last one was born at 5.40am.

Christel and Marnix were there to pick us up and welcome us in their kennel "Of Maranns Home". So from now on that will be our last name, sounds great and important doesn't it?

January 2008

Nadine and Dirk's been telling everyone who wants to hear that in a few months they will have a new puppy at home. And they've been showing photos from Amy and Indy to all those people.

The entire family had a hard time after their Border Collie Jenna died in November, but a month later or so they decided that a new puppy was more then welcome. They are already anxious about our birth and about taking me home with them. But that's nice to hear that I'm so wanted.

I could feel someone tickling my mum's tummy. Seems it was the vet who was taking an echo to see if we were really hiding in there. The vet counted 8 pups. We are soo small that we want to stay in here a while, it's cosy and warm.

Today there was a visitors day at Christel and Marnix' kennel "Of Maranns Home" where my mom Amy and dad Indy live.
Lots of people came, also Nadine, Dirk and their daughters Sofie and Eline.

They didn't know I overheard them, but Dirk told Nadine and the kids that he immediatly fell in love with my mom and that he wanted a brown/white female puppy from her. So I started hoping already that one day I could go and live at their home.

Christel and Marnix told them all they wanted to know and they also mentioned that they wouldn't be 100% certain that mom Amy was pregnant untill around December 20.

Today my mom and dad did some "bad manners". At least that's what I heard. They wouldn't say anything more about it but promised that in a few years I could know also.

All I heard was something about birds and bees, ... I don't have a clue what one thing has to do with another.
