Concert review :
Zénith, Lille, France - 24 March 2001

March 24th 2001, 1pm. Im' in front of the Zénith of Lille. Here we are ! Since October I'm waiting for this moment but I've not realized the situation.

In front of the Zénith I've met one of the webmaster of Texas On Line. Delphine Gayon. She gave to everybody a little picture of Sharleen with their site written on it…an ad…You're right to do it ! :-) When she gave it to me, my friend told me "you really don't know it, do you ?"…She knows this site is where I found everything I want concerning Texas :-) Today I found on the local paper the review made from the concert…just as a souvenir between others. Since March 24th…what I'm listening to ? Texas obviously. At each moment of the day…People around get a little bored but I don't care. It's my own pleasure.

The concert. As an introduction, the same as the Hush Tour : Zero Zero a little remixed. Then In Demand. I prefer the CD version but that's fine….Then Black eyed boy. The tuning is given : it will be crazy ! Sharleen is shining as usual ! She wears a trouser that only her can wear. It seems durty, a kind of varnish. She has got thinner. Then Halo. Waouh ! We all jumped !!!! We were all breathless…It was crazy, 8,000 persons very happy to be there ! Then there was So called friends, In our lifetime, Guitar Song (excellent live ! I love it !), Insane, Tired of being alore, DJ Jam (Grace jone's cover), an intimistic moment during Put your arms around played in acoustic, also for Prayer for you where Sharleen had an "Ally moment" very funny. Then "back to the very beginning of Texas (as Shar said) with I don't want a lover. And then When we are together and Summer Son. The end. No it can't ! Here is Elvis who is coming with Inner Smile ! Then second cover with Suspicious Minds from Elvis (obviously :-) ). The end ? Not yet ! There is something missing. You can't get away Say what you want purely remixed which give you a kind of adrenalin ! A place really crazy by happiness ! And then….Lights on….This is really the end. Back to reality :-( Next Rendez vous ? Ghent, Belgium on April 21st and Paris Bercy the day after.

I was placed at the front row, in front of Ally always smiling ! :-) I didn't want to be in the middle as Sharleen goes from right to left during the gig but I'll try to be in the middle in Paris. I met there English fans from Oxford. We talked together. It's was fun.
Nicole and Charlotte are really part of the band that's great. They are funny !
The supporting act was Reef. A king of Radiohead, Placebo. I rather liked it. The singer is handsome so it helps ;-) The music's good too.
Sharleen was really close to his audience. That's great. She spoke a lot to us. Even if sometimes it's a little bit difficult to understand her scottish accent (remember : I'm French !) but that's was ok. She told us her story she had with a taxi driver…Quite funny !
Oh ! There was this guy who had been able to come on stage. Very funny too ! Daniel is 19 and was really impressed to be able to dance with Sharleen !
Oh and Sharleen weraing leather suits her very very well ! :-)

That's it for this marvellous moment I spent. I'm dying to go to Ghent. This tour is really excellent !
