Concert review
London Docklands Arena, London, UK - 6 April 2001

By Amanda Glinsman

Well I am almost lost for words at the amazing show that I have just witnessed.

From the start the crowd were really up for it, so much so that I was sitting in the stands and they were vibrating with people stamping their feet(me included of course). I went with my sister in law who was not a fan but she is now.
The set list was pretty much the same apart from the inclusion of Waterfalls which was just stunning and So in love with you which was sung by the voice of an angel, what an inspirational song.

The guy out of the audience was hysterical, his name was Joe(or Joel) and he was a big lad with checked trousers on which Sharleen could not stop taking the piss out of, however he was really good at answering her back. He looked in heaven as she dirty danced with him and when he left she said that she thinks he was really excited or maybe he had some keys in his pocket. Yes Shar was in one of flirty, rockin moods. She also told us of a true story(well that's what she said) that she had a visit from the Elvis fan club and they were asking her whether she was in touch with Elvis, to which she laughed at, she did say for a joke maybe I am and that's why he is back in the charts again with Suspicious Minds.

Each song was amazing in it's own right but I do love In Demand, So in love with you, WWAT etc etc actually I cannot choose my favourite, but one of my top favourites has to be Guitar Song I just love it and to hear it live is truly wonderful. It is amazing how the band especially Shar can keep on going night after night with so much energy and the power in her voice just gets better. I actually heard Ally speak tonight, what a sweetheart he is, he liked the guys trousers, to which Shar replied by making fun of him. I must just say what a guitar player, just amazing.

I do love the bit where Shar and Eddie play on the keyboard together really cool, she made some sexual comment about none of us know what she and Eddie get up to up there and she likes it up there.

Anyway I could go on and on about how amazing they are and they just keep getting better and better but hey, you already know that so I will stop waffling, as you can tell over tiredness has kicked in. All the tracks were amazing and I wish I was going again. I just hope and pray that they bring out a live album or even better a video so that we can live this spectacular over and over again.

One last thing and this is to Texas. You are an inspiration to thousands, your determination and total commitment is to be admired. Your music just keeps getting better and better and your shows are truly inspirational. Thank you for your fantastic tunes and words, which become part of our daily lives(because they are so addictive they don't leave the CD players too often). Thanks for being one of the best bands in the world, your talent never ceases to amaze me.

Take care now
