Its that time of year again...so what were everyone's top 10 tunes of 2009? and what was the ultimate gig you have been to this year?
Unfortunately my music taste has gone sideways since i've started exercising a lot so unless its got a thumping baseline its off the radar but hey that is life and i'm sure i'll be back on track once another Texas album hits the shelves
in no particular order...
1. Simian Mobile Disco – Audacity of Huge
2. Simian Mobile Disco - Hustler
3. Gossip – Heavy Cross
4. Ian Carey Project - Get Shaky
5. Prodigy – Warriors Dance
6. Kasabian – Fire
7. Prodigy – Invaders must die
8. Kings of Leon – Be Somebody
9. Ian Brown – Illegal attacks
10. Black Eyed Peas – I Gotta Feeling
and the best gig was probably Kasabian although this year has been a pretty gigtastic time... looking forward to catching up with you all in 2010 x |

This is something I really don't manage to do ... cause I always remember the songs from the end of the year ... but for sure .. there would be :
- Pink : So what
- Kings of Leon
- Lily Allen - * you
- Paramore : Decode
- Mylene Farmer (sorry ... french singer )
- Jason Mraz ft Colbie Caillat : Lucky
- Little Boots - Remedy
I don't say that these songs are the best ... these are some of the songs that were special for me during this year.
I must miss some for sure ...
And the best gig ... without any doubt this time ... P!NK ! That's why I decided to see her again and again and again _________________

U2 - No Line on the Horizon....the whole album
Gossip - Heavy Cross
Metric - Sick Muse
Mumford and Sons - Little Lion Man
Florence and the Machine
Muse - The Resistance
Avett Brothers - I and Love and You
and
Black Eyed Peas and Lady Ga Ga songs were/are hard to keep out of my head, even though I heard them played to death throughout the summer. _________________ "So tell me where you want to go, take a breath when I ask you to, just try" |

I'm a little bit late with this posting
I'm obviously working too hard! Anyway 2009
In no particular order (sorry I really can't stick to just 10 - that's impossible)
Jim White - Bluebird
Wanda Jackson - Fujiyama Mama
Joan Baez - Diamonds and Rust
Muse - The Resistance
Elkie Brooks - Don't Cry Out Loud (sung v loudly in car on the way to work )
Imelda May - Meet You At The Moon
Georgie Fame - Getaway
Ella Fitzgerald - It's only a Paper Moon
Jolie Holland - Old Fashioned Morphine
Melanie Safka - Ruby Tuesday *possibly the finest cover of Ruby Tuesday you'll ever hear
Tift Merrit - Another Country
Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars (sung v loudly in car on the way to work)
Brandi Carlile - The Story (sung v loudly in car on the way to work)
The Statler Brothers - Flowers On The Wall (sung v loudly in car on the way home from work)
Rufus Thomas - Carry Me Back To Old Virginny
Bit of a mixed bag there (mostly oldies).
Best gig..... awww that's even harder... mmmm ...but probably a close call between Jools Holland and Wanda Jackson and of course not forgetting Sharleen in Feb! _________________ Can you move faster than the clouds,

Am late too, Chez, don't worry: you won't be the last!
Let me think...
1) Pink - Bad Influence
2) The Gossip - Heavy Cross
3) Lily Allen - The Fear
4) Paolo Nutini - Pencil Full Of Lead
5) Pink - So What
6) Dolores O'Riordan - The Journey
7) Pink - Funhouse
8) Röyksopp Ft Robyn - The Girl And The Robot
9) Paolo Nutini - Candy
10) Lily Allen - 22
Quite frankly, I think 2009 was a bit dull, apart from four or five artists. |

late, later, me
okay, so in no particular order:
Pink - Ave Mary A
Muse - Uprising
Ina Müller - Mama
Silbermond - Krieger des Lichts
The Civil Wars - Poison & Wine
Ella Edmondson - Hold your horses (whole album)
Brandi Carlile - Give up the ghost (whole album)
Gomez - Little Pieces
Juliette Lewis - Fantasy Bar & Junkyard Heart
Erik Penny - Side of the road
Saint Lu - Don't miss yourown life
best gig...phew...definitely Pink with her great show and Beth Hart in a little jazz club - both totally different types of concerts but simply great!
