Short conversations

  • Texas is one of the bands playing at the French RTL2 Concert Très Très Privé which takes place at L'Olympia in Paris on June 19th. Tickets can be won trough the radio station.
  • After the third week, the album climbed in Belgium to the 5th place.
  • Texas will be on the Andrew Marr show, BBC one on Sunday June 23.
  • Texas will play at the Latitude Festival on Sunday July 19th. The festival takes place at the Henham Park, Southwold, Suffolk. Tickets are available now through this link.
  • After the second week, the album charts for the album; Belgium at number 7, Switzerland at 12, France at 8, Spain at 45, Denmark at 97 and in the UK at 15 which is still great.
  • After the first week, the album entered the Belgian charts at number 6, Switzerland at 7, France at 9, Spain at 21, Germany at 38, Holland at 46 and in the UK at 4 which are great results.
  • The album entered the Belgian iTunes charts at 3 and in France at 9.
  • The concert in Belgium on October 28 is the first concert of the Texas tour that's sold out. So I guess they have to do one more in Belgium then :-)

    Showcases over

    The showcases which were planned to launch the album are now over. Now we have to wait till the festivals to see the band back on stage.
    Does that mean you have to stay Texas-less in the mean time?? NO :-) You all got a great new album to listen to and learn it from start to finish. In France there's the TV show "Le Ring" coming up on June 14th and it gives us the time to get the website up to date again with photos and reviews, so if you still have any ... dirk@texasindemand.com.

    In Brussels there were about 300 people present for a great showcase on a very nice stage with magnificant lighting. People could win tickets through the radio station, both by email and text messages.

    Le Grand Studio RTL

    Texas will appear on the French TV station RTL in the show "Le Grand Studio RTL" where they will play 5 songs; The Conversation - Inner Smile- Black Eyed Boy - Detroit City - Say What You Want.
    The show will be broadcasted on Saturday June 1st but you can already watch the clips here by clicking on the song titles above.

  • Texas appeared on Later with Jools Holland on BBC2 television on Tuesday May 14th and Friday May 17th.
    On Tuesday they performed "The Conversation" and on Friday "The Conversation", "Dry Your Eyes", "Detroit City" and a piano version, accompanied by Jools, of Marvin Gaye's "How Sweet It Is".

  • Sharleen also appeared on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch where she talked for about 1.5h about Texas and the new album.

  • Texas was on the famous French TV show Taratata on Friday May 17th.
    They performed "The Conversation", there was a great interview with Sharleen, Johnny and Ally and there was also a duet with Valerie June on "River Deep, Mountain High".

    King Tuts and 100 Club showcase

    The showcases at King Tuts in Glasgow and the 100 Club in London are already over. And I can say everyone was in top shape.

    The band with our funny Sharleen and a better voice then ever up front, Ally playing like he never has before, Eddie giving it all he's got, Tony's voice getting better by the day, Michael being his funny great self behind the piano, both Rosses fitting in perfectly and Johnny doing an amazing job behind the buttons.
    All this together is what makes Texas the amazing band they are and we can't say anything more then thank you.
    Oh and the fans were in topshape as well :-)

    New concert dates

    Texas will play at the famous T in the Park festival in Scotland on July 12. Texas played at the festival two times already, in 1997 and 2001. You can order Tickets now.

    The Conversation video clip


    The video clip for "The Conversation" has been released now. You can see Sharleen Spiteri walking with acclaimed Scottish actor Peter Mullan.
    The video for the song, which was shot in Paris, was also directed by the group.

    During the shooting of the video in Paris, Sharleen maybe a pretty heavy fall on her face and had to be taken to the hospital. Luckely without too many injuries.

  • As we told you earlier, the new Texas single "The Conversation" will oficially be released on May 13th. The radio premiere was scheduled for March 25th AM on UK Radio with the rest of Europe following later that day. But you can already get the track from the iTunes store on pre-sale. Here you can already have a preview of the single sleeve. there wont be a physical release.


  • Texas will launch the album with two very intimate live shows in Glasgow & London. The shows will take place in secret venues in each city with a very limited number of tickets for sale for each show. Only 50 pairs of tickets will be available for Glasgow and 75 pairs for London.   • Latest album news

    The media has picked up the news for the upcoming release of the new Texas album "The Conversation".

    The release date for the album has been set to May 20, with the release date for the first single, also called "The Conversation" set for May 13. The radio premiere for the single is planned on March 25.
    The album features Suede’s Bernard Butler, Primal Scream’s Barrie Cadogan and Mercury-nominated rocker Richard Hawley and this first album in 8 years marks the band’s 25th anniversary.
    Texas will hit the road for showcase dates in May ahead of a full-scale tour in September.

    Album news

    We are happy to announce some news about the upcoming Texas album.

    * The release date is set for May 20, 2013
    * The title from the album is "The Conversation".
    * It will be released on an independent record label called PIAS

    Sharleen says in MusicWeek:
    "When we started talking with [PIAS] we were really impressed by their enthusiasm and passion for our new music and how they work in a very modern and artist-friendly way," singer Sharleen Spiteri said.
    "We are really excited about starting a brand new phase of our career with our eighth studio album and a brand new label partner."
    The album will see founding members Spiteri and Johnny McElhone reunite after a six-year-long hiatus.
    Texas have sold over 20 million albums worldwide since forming back in 1986.

    Concert news

    The first Festival dates for 2013, with Texas of course, have been announced.

    Texas is playing the Sierre Blues Festival in Switzerland on Thursday August 29. Doors opening 18.30h, show starts 21.30h. Tickets can be ordered here.

    Texas will be playing the Ciney Festival at the Parc Saint-Roch in Belgium on August 31 at 22.00h. Other acts yet to be confirmed. Tickets can be ordered here.

    Mchammad Ally

    On November 4th, there was an article in The Sunday Mail about Ally taking up boxing.

    In the same article, you can also read the following;
    As well as being known as the guitarist in Texas, Ally plays in the alternative country-rock trio Red Sky July, alongside Shelly and former Alice Band member Charity Hair.
    He’ll collect the Inspiration award on behalf of the band when they perform at this year’s Tartan Clef awards, which benefit the Nordoff Robbins music therapy charity. The event will be held at The Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow on November 17.
    And having used music as part of his own rehabilitation, Ally admitted: “When I was recovering, it was the music that really helped me to get better.

    Ross Hamilton solo record

    Ross Hamilton, guitarist, bass player and backing vocalist from Texas over the last two years, released a solo album under the name of "Model Jet Pilot". The title of the album is "Welcome To The Future".

    All songs on the album are written by Ross and the album is produced by Ross and Texas collegue Michael Bannister.
